TG3 displays mem test

Anyone have this problem.

When plugged in the front panel says "mem test"

I think she might be toast! Can't do anything, no sound no nothing.

Re: TG3 displays mem test

Have you tried to reset it? It tells how in the manual.

IF that doesn't fix it, try re-seating the ribbon cable inside the unit. Those seem to cause problems with the Sunfire units.

Thanks rabbit, I will give the ribbon a try. As for the reset, tried that to no avail.

Re: TG3 displays mem test

We were all wondering what kind of issues would arise from the Chinese-made Sunfire equipment they are now producing.... :(

Re: TG3 displays mem test

I'm assuming this is a Theater Grand Processor III or TGP-III right, nor the "made in china" TGR-3? Based on your signature of course.

Re: TG3 displays mem test

AH...I misread. Thought that was the TGR3 receiver.

The reset doesn't work.......time for a trip to Rita. That's about all you can do at this point. At least give her a call & see if she has any suggestions you can try before sending it off.

Re: TG3 displays mem test

Thanks guy's, by the way I talked to Rolland at hi tech and he thinks the processor might be toast if I can't reset it some how. Kind of like a jump start or something.

Will try Rita for the last ditch effort.

Anybody need parts?

Re: TG3 displays mem test

Don't part it out just yet, Bill @ Rita's can fix this. If you don't want to spend the cash, I'll buy it from you, let me know, thanks.
