M-500t won't shut off!

Post by briandarflinger » Tue Feb 20, 2018 11:48 am

Hello everyone- Its been awhile..
So- My M-500t is on as soon as its plugged in,, and the only thing the power button does is turn the meter lights on and off- but the Amp is always on. Anyone dealt with this issue?-
Thanks in advance

Those amps are always on unless actively shut down - not by just the switch, but by circuitry that the switch turns on when you move it to 'off' position. So something in that off-circuit is not working.
Probably time for some servicing. Be sure that whoever works on it understands Carver's Magnetic Field Coil power supply.

I recall Wayne saying something about the Mag-coils always being on in the M-1.0t, regardless of if the switch is off; and the only way to fully shut it down is to unplug or use a switched 110V like a power strip or sequencer. Is that also true of the M-500t?

I have several M-500Ts, this is the only one that continues working after switched 'off'

In 2007 or so Rita from carver corp had to change out my power switch on the rebuild of my M500t for that reason as well
Between FrankieD and I we have logged in over 12,000 miles going and coming from Carverfest's. Don't let the miles in between play with your mind. Get over it, jump on a plane get to the fest and have a great time !
