This MXR designator has picqued my curiousity. Would MXR possibly stand for Military EXchange Receiver? I know that Cerwin-Vega sold the exact same speakers under different names. MX was the designator for their models sold in military exchanges (MX-400, MX-250), and they APPEARED to be the exact same speakers as some of the "D" series NOT sold in exchanges (I thought they all sucked, and pretty much feel that C-V is a kid speaker manufacturer, along with Klipsch and a couple others).
I was employed demonstrating Carver and Cerwin-Vega products in the military exchanges for awhile back in the early 90's. By that time the TFM series of amps, and the HR series of receivers was what the exchanges were handling. When I bought my first Carver product from the exchange in 1988 or so, it was the Carver Receiver 150. Anybody understand what I'm getting at?
