TFM-15CB Problem

Hello,
I'm having a problem with my TFM-15CB with popping noises. When I turn the amp on, I hear a slight buzzing noise. Then when I hook up the LFE input to my receiver, I get a popping through my woofer that's hooked up to it whenever I make a different selection in input devices. If I'm running the DVD then switch to the tuner, the sub pops bigtime. I've tried another sub and the same thing happens,,

any suggestions are appreciated ,

It sounds as if you have a problem in your receiver or pre-amp. What brand is it?

The receiver I have is a Yamah Rx-v2200. The receiver works fine w/o the amp plugged in. But when I plug it in via the "lfe out" , that is when the popping starts. Also noticed a louder than usual hum coming from the amp when turning it on.

Never discharge a large cap by shorting out the terminals. Instead use a 3-5 watt power resistor of about 1k ohms to discharge it for several minutes.
