HR-895 Motorized Volume Problem

I have an HR-895 with with everything working perfectly with the exception of the motorized volume control.

The main volume control works manually, it just doesnt work from the remote control.

The other non-motorized volume controls (center & surround) work fine from the remote as well as the other remote functions.

I am fortunate to have another working unit to swap parts with.

This is what I have done so far:

I swapped the motor control modules (RVR) between both units. Both work fine in the working receiver.

I swapped the (RSC) modules/boards between both units. Both work fine in the working receiver.

The motor control module (RVR) has a 7 conductor flat cable that goes to the main receiver board.

Any help anyone can give as to were to check next would be greatly appreciated...

Sound like either a dead motor or a bad cable to me. You can always try checking the motor's windings for continuity. Does the motor make any noise at all when you use the remote?

Have you checked to see if the motor isn't jammed with a metal shaving or other obstruction? Does it move freely when you manually turn it? The motor by itself, not attached to anything that is.......

You did verify that the up/down buttons on the remote itself are functioning properly?

The RVR module includes the volume pot and the motor that drives it.

This module was tested in another HR-895 and works fine......

The remotes (their are two) work fine .....

So that only leaves the connection between the IR receiver and the volume pot motor at fault; you said all other functions work properly with the remote, correct?
