Don, so very sorry to hear this, as Melody said we had to put our josie down just last month & it was harder then I ever dreamed!! we know exactly how you feel!! I didnt realize how common cancer is in dogs until I read up on the subject after josie got sick!! I hope to god they find a cure for cancer sometime in our lifetime!! please know that we share your loss & hope that you keep all those great memories of katie that you have & they make you smile when you think of her!! I hope someday that you will get another pup to give you the unconditional love that these creatures give us!! the reason it hurts as bad as it does is that these animals dont do the terrible things to us like we humans do to one another sometimes!! they only know how to love you & be happy everytime they see you!! take care & carry her memory with you until you meet again!! thank god for creating these things for all of us to enjoy & fill our lifes with good times!!

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It sure is hard, isn't it?

She joins my Taz and Sugar on Rainbow Bridge and the two foster cats (Tom and Big Sugar) who I lost this year as well.

I think some say "Rainbow Bridge" as if it is supposed to help - it does not.

She was a Golden Beauty!

My daughter's Birthday is coming up next month and with the loss of Katie and seeing those great pictures it gave me an idea :-k My daughter loves her dog to death (and so do I) She has a miniature Italian Greyhound, her name is Kona. We had taken some pictures of her in front of the pellet stove but unfortunately the stove was off. My wife did some amassing photo shopping and I want to frame these as a present. Hopefully this will make your day a little better. Enjoy!

Fuck cancer....got our Sandi dog as well. Time for someone to cure (or at least ID the causes of) this disease that robs so many of so much. Feel for you and your family, Don. Remember the good times and love and joy she brought to everyone in your family.

Thank you everyone for your kind and compassionate comments. Terri and I kept very busy this weekend, which helped. (Taking care of Mom and Dad all day yesterday, Concert last night, installed whole home stereo and 4 sets of speakers today at Matt's) Gave Matt my Carver AV 806X (sitting in a closet) which works well as a whole home amp powering the 4 sets of speakers. The little GR Research DYI speaker project Matt and I did or month or two ago also were installed today at his place. Very, very nice.

Anyhoo, thanks again everyone.
