???? PDF Formatting ????

Post by Toy Maker » Fri Jun 20, 2008 8:48 pm

I just made a new file, and want opinions on the quality of this file, before I go any farther.
Take a look and give me some feedback please.
Oh yeah, I "text" formatted the file... you can copy and paste the text right off the pages...

Toymaker - which direction are you heading in with this? The text quality is light, but it is legible enough for someone to read. The disclaimer at the bottom is a nice touch however, it may stop someone from trying to sell a manual only, but the could still include a copy with their particular item. A true collector obviously would like the originals (as we on this website do, but a copy will suffice when an original is not available). I think you can password protect your work so no one can edit other than people with proper permissions, i.e. password, etc. so that would prevent someone from removing your disclaimer.

Not sure if this is where you are headed, but I offered my 2 cents worth.

Yeah, I know.. I haven't locked it yet.... After it's finished, I will lock it so no one can edit the finished doc.

I thought they were a little light too... might just be the default scanner settings, I'll look into that.

As far as the copyable text, and all pages inline.. the rest look good so far ??

I think the images and text are very readable as-is. I like it! 8)

Nice job. How many DPI is that? Did you scan with gray scale only? Some scanners will give you extra res if it's only b&w. Like the disclaimer. Checked the properties. I think there is a property to set that doesn't allow copying. Just my 2¢ worth.

Looks great, James. If you could darken it up a little bit, that would be terrific.

It looks like your scanning in color? Try scanning B/W with a higher DPI. Otherwise it looks great > good job! =D>
