There are plenty guys of guys here that can answer your questions. I would think the M1.5t should be enough. I believe it runs around 380wpc at 8ohms and I can't remember what the wpc is at 4 ohms but its a significant increase I think. I'm just a noob myself and thats about all the input I have except stick around if you feel like it and get to know some people. Really nice guys here!! There is plenty to learn. I'm reading all the time trying to get it sanked into my brain.

You do NOT want to run a 4 ohm speaker with the M400 in bridged mode; it won't be happy & you won't like the sound. The M1.5t is a POWERHOUSE.

Welcome to the forum! I'm not sure what AC filter you are referring to? There are a lot of Carver names out there, but this might not be a Bob Carver product. Could you post link or explain what this filter is?
