welcome Art!! This is a great place to be! I'm a little confused on your line up? Your 2-channel receiver and a 2 channel M-1.5t? (nice amp by the way) and a CT-17? ok I can understand the CT-17 but what is the receiver and amp pumping juice to? ummm, maybe to the neighbors speakers? When your neighbors tick you off, you just crank it up?

The receiver isn't part of my main system, just another great Carver product I own. My main system comprises of:

CT-17 (preamp)
M-1.5t (amp)
Tannoy System 8 NFM II (speakers)
Velodyne DEQ-12R (subwoofer)
Denon DVD-1800BD (blu-ray player)
Belkin PF60 (Power Conditioner)

I actually just sent the amp and preamp to Rolland Barr (Hi-Tech Audio) to have them completely refurbished.

And yes, I shouldn't be sourcing my CD input from a blu-ray player, but I am. I don't have the funds to get an external DA converter yet.

Thanks for the update Art! Glad to hear Rolland is doing the refub on your components, you must of been doing some research on this. I love the Sub also! Sounds like your system is "sweet and juicy like these nutz.". This is just my opinion but others do share this, Would you consider trying other cables and speaker wire? Monster is not to liked around here, different reasons. Monster power conditioners are another story > we like them Everyone has their preference but I had to go with cost combined with quality. I run Kimber Kable 4TC speaker wire and all Kimber Hero connects with locking WBT. I have been very pleased with this set up.

Thanks for the kind words. It will be a few weeks until I receive my equipment back from Rolland (hopefully before the end of January, but I'm willing to wait).

Regarding the interconnects and speaker wire, I've never really done any A/B testing to determine incremental differences. With that said, I will do some research on Kimber Kable and see what they're all about.
