Hello from Northern Virginia
Hi, I am new to the forum. I have been an audiophile since the very early 1970s and have had some Carver equipment through the years starting with a Phase Linear 4000. Currently I have a Sunfire 300 x 2 amp which is actually my second amp of this type. I sold the first one a while back
. I have a pair of Infinity RS-4.5 speakers which are power hungry and whose impedance drops to around 2 ohms in the deep bass-- a good candidate for a Carver amp, yes? Other amps/preamps include Bryston and McIntosh, Sony XA7ES and Arcam CD31 CD players, and Roksan Xerxes X and Technics SP-25 turntables. Lotsa records and CDs. I have always admired Bob as an innovative engineer and entrepreneur.

Welcome we are crazy guy's and gals, I also like your avatar.
I was looing at a used Roksan Xerxes 20, a nice T/T, but a little pricy for me.
I ended up going with a VPI Classic.

Hello !!!!!!
Don't waste a good opportunity to shut up!
Good judgment comes from experience, but experience usually comes from bad judgment.
The best thing is to learn from others that have mastered the one thing you need to learn!
I would tell you to go to hell but I already work there and I don't want to see your ugly face every day!

Gotta love that N. VA traffic.
Political Correctness...defined
A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
In a recent press conference, President Obama remarked, "If I had a city, it would look just like Detroit."

Hello and welcome to the forum. You are from my original stomping grounds. I was born in Fairfax county hospital and lived in Springfeild/North Springfeild until I was about 19. Back then, it was a great place to grow up.
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.
The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.
