Indiana noob ...

Checking in from Northwest Indiana (near Chicago - somewhat).
Been after Carver gear since I was about 15 , I'm pushing 40 now , so it's about time to finally take the plunge.
I currently have misc. crap gear , except my Polk Monitor 10B's.
I'm looking to build a nice HT set-up , all new equipment (to me), which will double as my "escape from the wife and kids and actually listen to the music for a little while" system. I think most of you should understand that ....

Dad has but I never have. Since I moved away from Indiana it's interesting to have seen the differences in the way he is publicly perceived outside the state compared to inside. Having been raised on Indiana basketball, and more heart-pounding Saturday afternoons than I could count, I have come to revere that man and his coaching genius. Nobody better understands the game.

As a former Marine , I love the guy .... he speaks his mind and instills self-disipline in his kids.

As far as what i'm looking for Carver/Sunfire-wise ,
to start with , Pre-amp and amps ....
Pre/amp-pre/pro : needs to be HT compliant (5.1) , understandably price = options/technology
amps : looking at 1.5t's right now.
Sunfire stuff prolly not in the budget right now , unless I can snipe one cheap on E-bay ... .... don't see that happen'n.

I'm flexible on the pre/pro brand for now , but I really want Carver amps.
I do have some other questions I'll research or post in the proper topic areas.
