Carver is it

I have been a believer since reading about Bob's genius in the late 70's, and my M-400 purchase in 1981(I think). I soon traded up for an M-500, because I was trying to run four relatively inefficient speakers during frequent "stereo wars" in my college dorm. My musical interest covers nearly the entire spectrum--i just like music. Classic hard rock is number 1 (The Who, AC/DC, BTO, Ozzy) I also like Petra, Green Day, occasional Bowling For Soup, some country, and easy jazz. I spent six years in the back of my high school orchestra, scratching away on my self-beat-up violin, so that might explain why occasionally a big symphonic number can really get me going. Well, under-employment and marriage had left me with nothing but lower level electronics, with that workhorse of an amp providing the base, until a few weeks ago. I ran into a guy who revealed that he had a "Corvair" stereo that didn't work in his basement. I figgered a non-working Carver in the hand, is worth a thousand in the bush, so I took it home, and soon learned that the only thing that didn't work was one of the meter lights! I took my newly, freely, acquired Carver CM-1090 integrated amp to the local shop, and paid $15 to have both lamps replaced. Now I am bound & determined to assemble two Carver systems with these two amps as the cores.
Now, if you're still reading after all that, I am looking for advice on acquiring a remote for my 1090, that will at least control the power & volume. If I get a Carver PRH-2, what are the options to program it to do at least those tasks? I would be willing to mail a PRH-2 to anybody with a 1090 remote (or one that can control a 1090), if they were willing to teach it the commands (and send it back to me). I'd be willing to talk about a fee.
Also, is the TX-12 a "matching" tuner for the 1090? Thanks so much.

My kinda guy!!!!!! ...As for the remote, contact Beemers who has an audio shop, Vintage Hi-Fi of Pittsburgh Audio. He may be able to scratch you up one. As for the TX-12...I got one and love the look with the meter. I think it would look great with that integrated amp.

The TX-12 is a very good tuner. Only one better that I know of is the TX-10B. I have a TX-8 and like it a lot.

I see I have a typo. I said TX-10b. Should have typed in TX-11B. Sorry!

I eventually figured out that it must be a typo, based on your other references to the TX-11B. Vintage is selling me a remote--I'm pumped! And they're going to keep their eyes open for a TX-12 for me. Tom at Vintage tells me that the TX-12 is the tuner that matches the CM-1090, and the remote controls it.
