Pop the top again remove the CENTER screw that holds the disc assembly across the platter (it's right in the middle of the platter) and raise it up. You can access the laser lens from there--just clean it with a q-tip & some pure alcohol (windex will do in a pinch, just make sure you get it cleaned off dry with no smudges. Then re-assemble. This will cure 90% of reading errors. If you have further trouble, give me a call (PM sent) & I'll talk you through a couple other things you can do.
