Hello From Another Carver Addict

Needless to say, I was tired after driving 25 hours with only a one hour break.

A good friend of mine said this once and I think the same statement is appropriate here.....

As far as the CDP? Don't get a Carver CDP. Technology has come leaps and bound since then. There is only one exception that I can think about.....that being the Carver 490t withOUT the stock tubes. They sucked. Do you have a budget in mind for a CDP?


Cables? If we meet up this weekend we could possibly demonstrate many cables....let me get up with the hosts, please.

I need to update my cables on my current CDP. However, that will be my next purchase. I do not have a budget in mind yet.

And people thought I was crazy for going to Canada to get speakers

I drove roughly 1,500 miles within 25 hours. My body felt it when I finally laid down to rest.

The speakers were definitely worth the trip.

Now, if I can just get my hands on the Silver 7T's

I drove straight through from Maryland to Indiana (600 miles one way) & back within 18 hours to pick up my AL-IIIs~

I'm glad I am not the only one that will do what I did. I would do it again, if I had to. However, I would stay overnight before getting back on the road.

That said, I have sent word to see if it's OK for you to meet up at the hosts house down in Hotlanta. No promises, but seeing as how you are much as a nutcase as we are....traveling so far for "just" a pair of speakers [as our women would say]....I'd say you fit the bill. Still, it's their decision. I should know more by tomorrow night.

I don't think he'll be buying tubes for a while unless something just strikes his fancy. You see, George has this sickness. I think they call it tuberslutitis or some shit.

He had a nice set of tube amps. I started to buy them. However, I am on the hunt for the Carver Silvers. Although i like the 7Ts, I will jump on a pair of 9Ts.
