my name's nico, and I live in switzerland. I recently purchased a PM600 in a second hand shop.
I did'nt fired it up for now as I'd like to check it.
This is the first time I own a Carver product, and I'm delighted. Very sturdy built, impressive PCB quality.

My audio rig consists of

SL 1650 MkII, mint condition, arm as NEW, found in the trash...

IMPRESSIVE system you have; I've never seen those model Altec speakers. They are HUGE!

Yes.
They are huge...had to hire professionals to get them home.

I didn't find many info about the 9862. They (green baffle) seem to be a limited export loudspeaker for Japan. One of the few remaning has been sold in France in 95 or 96.
God knows how they ended up in a swiss studio...Made in 82.
MIT T3 on terminals.

I guess they'll be happy with the Carver. Never had one, but I know and respect Bob and his intergrity towards audio. So, I'm pretty confident on the result. Maybe another incurable collector (on his way)...to write on the book.

Cabasse are pretty efficient speakers made to be played at REAL level. Which can be a pain for neighbours when you invite Dillinger Escape Plan for an impromptu in the livingroom. But... what a slap ! They need power to give everything, though.

I need to check the PM600.
Looks like it has been cared for, but there's an audible hum coming from it when powered up.

I'll investigate, thanks to the shared info found on this website.

PS : I broke my wrist recently and need surgery...typed this bloody diatribe with one finger. There can be some delays on my posts.
