I want to buy some Amazing Loud Speakers.

Post by ferrari » Mon Jan 30, 2006 6:30 pm

Hi everyone, I am new here. I am trying to buy some Carver Platinum Speakers. I live in Vermont and will drive to pick up the hard to pack speakers. I left some IM's a couple of days ago to a few people who wanted to sell their speakers. I haven't heard back, basically because I did not have my EMAIL enable clicked on in my profile.
I ewill try again to make contact tonight, but if you can, send me a short note. My email adress here is FERRARI@SOVER>NET
thank you for your time. Terry S

Excellent taste in loudspeakers. Welcome to this forum. Keep your nose to the grindstone and your ear to the railroad tracks to secure those speakers. They are out there and you sure won't be disappointed. Consider the Amazing Silvers as well if your room isn't too big. I easily could've done with The Silvers, but didn't want to spend the rest of my life wondering what The Plats would've sounded like in my room, so I got those instead!

Hi George :)

Thank you for reply.
I used to own a set of silvers along with my 3 sets of platinums. A mistake anyone could make would be to compare them and listen. There is no comparison. it is day and night results. they were both run with SILVER 9t amps. so power was not an issue. if you had silvers and never heard the platinums, you would be very happy with them, especially in a smaller room. I just need 2 more sets of platinums to finish my system,,, not to say i wouldnt get more for spares. Thank you everyone for your help........carver forever. Terry S

"I just need TWO MORE SETS of Platinums to finish my system."

I love it! Spoken like a true man!

Ron C from right here in Jersey has a surround system with a couple pair of Plats as well.

I know George, you don't. Showing up there wouldn't be the smartest thing you could do.
Political Correctness...defined

A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

In a recent press conference, President Obama remarked, "If I had a city, it would look just like Detroit."

Be real gentle on those C-20 prices. Sell me one of those for cheap, and I may "will" you my pair. I'm 53.

Don't waste a good opportunity to shut up!

There is a pair of plats on Audiogon that are located in Florida. Price is pretty good, too. Missing the grills, though.
