Greetings from the Cheesehead state
I am primarily vinyl based (4000 + LPs as well as piles of 45s, and several hundred 78 rpm disks). My listening covers almost everything except Italian opera and rap (music is like candy - you first got to get rid of the rapper
). I have a large primary system and a number of in flux vintage systems, the Carver being part of one of those. An incomplete list of equipment is:
Primary - Krell KRC-HR pre, Krell KPS20i & Krell FPB-700cx amp, Technics SP-10 Mk II based custom Plinth TT with Reed 2A arm and Zu modified Denon DL-103 cart, Revox A-77 (modified) R2R, primarily Purist Audio Design interconnect and speaker cable, and either B&W 808 or Dahlquist DQ-10 speakers. Power is delivered through a 30A dedicated circuit to the amp and 20A circuit for the front-end stuff. Front end stuff plugged into a Furman Power Factor Pro. Power amp runs through a Tice Power Block & Titan combo. The room has treatments to deal with standing waves and various reflections.
Vintage gear
Receivers - Carver HR-752, Pioneer SX-1010(2) SX-880, SX-780, SX-750, Marantz 2240B & 2220, Sansui G-6000, Sony STR-7065,
Kenwood K-2600, NAD 7020e
Intregrateds - Onkyo A-10 & A-7
Separates - Sony TA-2000F pre & TA-3200F(2) power amp, Nikko NT-790 tuner
TT - Dual CS-5000 (for 78s), Thorens TD-160, JVC Ql-L2 linear tracker, and a very old Webster-Chicago 255-2A mono table
Tape - a second Revox A-77, Nakamichi BX-100 & Yamaha K-700 cass.
Speakers - B&W Matrix 1 series II, second set Dahlquist DQ-10, Focus 7.1, DCM TF-400, Celeston Ditton 130, large original Advents, Bozak B-301 Tempo, and Altec model 3s
For those who care, I'm left handed AND I know Latin fish names.
Words of wisdom: ALWAYS wear pants when soldering!
I look forward to contributing to this community.
