IS THE SUNFIRE CLASSIC TUBE PREAMPLIFIER GENTLE?
Hello everybody! I have only owned my Sunfire Classic Tube preamplifier for a few months now and was curious if it was easy on tubes. I owned a Counterpoint SA-5000 for years and it went through tubes it seems made every 1 1/2 to 2 years with about 10 to 14 hours of listening a week. When I got the Sunfire it still had the original tubes in it and though they weren't noisey the were dull and flat sounding. I replaced them with JAN philips 6922's and Sovtek 12ax7lps, let them burn in for about two weeks and WOW!!!!!! GET THAT COUNTERPOINT TO EBAY!!!!!! QUICK!!!!!!
