Hello from Portugal

Hi, my name is Roger and I live in Lisbon, Portugal. Well, during weekends as during the week I live in Madrid, Spain. It’s 1 hour flight.

Well, I have 2 systems.

In my office I have: Audiolab 8000 as a preamplifier, Vincent 331 as a power, Denon 3930, CEC 3300, Samsung LCD, Nakamichi ZX-7, Behringer DEQ2496, Thorens TD147 with a Rotel RIAA equalizer, valve home built headphone amplifier, Sennheiser HD650 and Martin Logan Sequel II.

In the living room I have: Audiolab 8000S, Audiolab 8000P, Denon 2910, Nakamichi 680ZX, Epson 1000 and Sonus Faber Concerto.

Well, Carver has always been a want-to-have in my imaginary but the offer here in Portugal is inexistent.

By pure chance I found a CT-Seven on ebay for a very nice price and I bought it. I have it in my house in Madrid connected to an old Onkyo integrated amplifier which sounds correct but nothing else. On top of that I am using the speakers are from a Koss Digital Delay I had and these are not good (remember when there were no receivers with 1.000 sound modes – cinema, home, bar, rock house, jazz, etc ?). Bottom line, I cannot asses the quality until I take the pre with me to Lisbon, compare it with my Audiolab and decide which one I will keep. I am looking for the Holy Grail on a (very) tight budget but, aren’t we all ?
