Welcome Adam. Beautiful part of the country you're living in, just great. I once took a train to West Glacier and spent 2 weeks in the GNP back country. Lake McDonald is right there just inside the park if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, Lake McDonald is very near the west entrance of the park. I spend a lot of time there each year hiking with my family and backpacking with my bro's in the back country. The park brings me a lot of peace - I'm glad you got to spend time there. THX.

Beautiful area.
Terri and I took the old Red Bus tour a few years back and stayed in all of the old railroad lodges.
