Welcome to the forum. Best wishes on your continued journey into the world of Carver and Sunfire equipment. Lots of good people here that will help you. When it comes to speakers, I'm a big Polk Audio fan. Carver and Sunfire are matches made in Heaven for vintage Polk Audio speakers. My 2 pennies worth :D

Hello Tim and welcome to the Carver forum. Let's start with the issue that apparently disabled the rig to begin with. What type of speakers do you own and what do you think the issue is with them, besides the hum you had mentioned?

Or is the hum the only issue?
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.
