new guy.

new to this board, but long time Carver/Sunfire user. looking forward to participating.

2 channel system (music only) is driven by two Carver TFM-15CB amps, bi-wired, bi-amped into Mirage M-7 speakers.
Carver CT-3 pre-amp. Sony CD player. Pioneer turntable. second set of vintage Advent speakers in a seperate room.


home theater is run by a Sunfire Theater Grand processor(TGIV), a Carver TFM-15 amp for the main speakers, Carver TFM-6 for the center channel, Carver TFM-6 for the rear surrounds, a third Carver TFM-6 awaiting the addition of side surrounds. Main speakers are Mirage M-7's, center channel is Mirage, surrounds are Def Tech. Sunfire True Sub EQ to shake the walls. Sony BluRay. LG 60".

having trouble with my Sunfire True Sub EQ(seperate post).will likely head up the hill to Snohomish today and see what the problem is.

You have some good junk, especially on the video side.

What is "bi-wired, bi-amped" on the same speakers?
I used to bi amp my outdoor speakers, but with the addition of the 600-2, just use the voltage/current outputs now for the highs and lows on the speakers.

In the bar, I do use the same 4 strand speaker wire, but my speakers are not the "bi" type there so I just combine the wires. Down there I have the 400-5 and 3 un-used channels are going to waste.
Any advice?

hey thanks for the welcome,

not sure you can do much more than combine wires....in my set up the bi-amp is a function of the two TFM15-CBs that had a bi amp feature, the bi wiring is a function of the Mirage speakers that have 4 posts....the Mirage speakers offered an option of either bi amping or bi wiring...

at the time I set this up I considered using the amps each as a mono block...but for whatever reason went the bi amp route

if I recall someone at Carver recommended bi amping v mono blocks....

hope this makes some sense....
