Nice amp! Do you have a copy of the service manual? How do you know the rails are at fault? We'll need some more information to help you.

Re: m-1.0t psu rail problem

Your technician needs a copy of at least the M-1.0t service manual. I think the M-0.5t manual is very helpful as well. Both are available for free download at numerous sites.

It's going to be too difficult to do much troubleshooting through yourself as a middleman. Already I'm not clear whether you had blown resistors(per your first post) or transistors (2nd post). The speculation about the triac and rails isn't helpful. Your tech needs to communicate directly with another tech.

There are several shops here in the US that specialize in these amps. Typical repair and refurbishment might run around $300 per amp. There are also some people who do upgrades to these amps to increase their power and reliability. So you have options if you're willing to pay for specialized repairs (and shipping!).

I've never heard of Carver repair shops in Europe, but any good audio tech over there should have the parts, brains, tools, and test gear to at least get her running.

Good luck! :)
