Carver / Sunfire / Audio in Excess

Hi All,
Just joined not to long ago. I've been an audio enthusiast in excess (so my wife says) ever since childhood. What I enjoy most is purchasing these pieces used and most of the time non-working. As odd as it may seem, audio repair and circuit design in general is a longtime passion of mine. As an EE with 27 years of experience I've never failed at an audio equipment repair. This is the only way I could ever afford a Carver / Sunfire piece of equipment!!

Chuck....have you had any problems with your HR-895??? I've got a "static" problem.....

george - you must be very close by! up until 3 weeks ago i've been living in tabernacle. i have now just accepted a job transfer and am located in vestal, ny. both very beautiful, rural areas. vestal affords considerably more land for our horses

I only get it in the main channels, not in the surround or the center or even in the multi-room outs. It only seems to do it after the receiver has heated up. Not really on the radio, but most other inputs as well. I found the Carver Service center here and Vintageaudiomanuals.com has a schematics and layouts manual for $10!!! They said that no service manual was ever produced.
