--- Lightstar Lightstar Lightstar --- would you upgrade ??

Post by Toy Maker » Thu Mar 27, 2008 9:55 am

I am curious to know, how many of you would upgrade your preamp, and amp for a set of Lightstar units if the price were $2500 for the set??
I am not making an offer here, just curious to know how many would trade in their current (stereo) system, for a Lightstar Pre, and Amp.
(((note: we are taking upgrade. You would NOT be able to keep your current units. )))

You don't have to post anything if you don't want to, just click one of the options for the poll.

Come on, James; everyone knows that BillD & I each have SEVEN wonderfully delightful channels of power @ 400 watts into 8 ohms, all housed in a small, 48-lb aluminum box....! O:) O:) O:) O:)

I'd mainly love the pre, but the amp would be nice too on my Plats. If I bi-amped the Plats with the Lightstar and my 9t's, I'd have to talk Toymaker out of some of his super ribbon material though. Doubt the standard would hold up to the wattage.

SEVEN SUNFIRE channels.... nowhere near the same thing.....Wabbit. Plus Lightstar is WAAY beyond Sunfire in the KUUL factor. I'd do it again in a minute.....and pay full boat!!!

Gotta admit, Lightstar has the coolness factor down. But I wouldn't trade, anyway.

Sunfire's have the "cool" factor too, and they have one HUGE advantage over the Lightstar, you can still get parts for 'em.

WHAT???? I thought that you had bought ALL the Lightstar parts, not just the ones for the amps. Guess I assumed wrong and was missing part of the story.

no no no... I only bought what Rolland was willing to let go (plus 1 he didn't want to let go). He kept enough parts for future repairs :)
