Carver TFM-45 Service Manual wanted.

Post by bmartin » Tue Jan 06, 2004 10:07 am

Hi. Can anyone share or sell me a Carver TFM-45 Service manual please.
I need the circuit diagrams to give to my technician to repair my amp economically.
It pretty much died after my cat took a leak on it on Christmas day !!!

Please send your scanned manual to BMartin@worldonline.co.za
or tell me what you want for yours.

This Carver site has them for US$11 but I cant seem to contact the guy.

Regards,
Brendan Martin

Techman's site is http://www.vintageaudiomanuals.com

Mike is a great guy and he has what you need.

I've got to ask (being owned by a cat also), how the hell did your cat piss inside of your amp??? Mine put a claw into a grill cloth once.....she'll never do that again!!! BAD KITTY

I didnt really think you wanted a blow by blow account - but since you asked - The cat reversed up to the amp which was on a low shelf in a cabinet by itself. The Carver has cooling slots on top of the amp. So when the cat let loose the liquid ran into the cooling slots which are exactly on top of two vertical circuit boards and a bunch of transistor looking things
at the bottom of the amp. When the amp was swithed on it made an interesting electronic fizzing sound and then stopped working entirely.
Yes - I do wish I did not switch it on !

I have received a mail from Mike since making this post, and am busy buying a manual from him. Thanx for the help though !

LOL......thanks for the blow by blow. I really should have asked why your cat decided the Carver was a good place to go, but I suspect that will remain a mystery.

I'm glad you found Mike and good luck with the repair.
