The TFM-75 has that plug-in with the white, black & red wiring. What is that?

got the 10000uf 150V caps installed today...
did not go as smooth as I had hoped...
the caps should have been 5-1/8lg not 5-5/8 (add says 5-1/8)...this made for a tight fit, had to flip one set to the inboard, and make 2 wire leads longer to reach the cap hook up points...
set the top rail voltage to 122V, the lower voltages also followed to spec....
still trying to find the voltages for test points 1,2 and 3...
test point 3 is controlled by a pot (R25) on the power supply board, set this to .5v
will have to ask Rita, as I can't find any thing on the web about this....
but the amp powers up, the left ch does not go into protection mode, and the meters do not slam home when it powers up and or off..... \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/
one more project almost done....

I would put a none conductive shield to prevent possible arching problems. Just a thought since you have a tighter fit.

Mike,

Awesome job. When finished, take a night shot of those new blue meter lights in the 75.

i wonder what they removed all those diodes and resistors? could that be why the 75 has more treble than the 2400. the one that i got at the fest is now in need of some repairs. my friend some how hooked it up in a way that it now has some noise coming in from the fan. did you get a schematic for the 2400 mike?

see any thing different..... :-s
While we're doing thread necromancy around here...

Those are *power supply boards*, not amp boards. :)

The missing components on the TFM-75 power boards are where the power sequencing circuitry would be for the PT-1800/2400. And the TFM-75 doesn't have "clipping" LED's, so it doesn't need those drivers on the power boards, either.

You can read PT1800/2400 screened right on the "75" board.
Different parts installed as required, of course And there are different revisions sometimes. But baiscally the same board.

My apologies- doh! #-o There's not much I can contribute, so I jump at the opportunities. Who knows, a newbie or new owner might wander across this thread, as I once did. And for the sake of posterity we should endeavor for completeness. Besides, Angelo asked! :D

I'll go back to grabbing my obvious firmly now...
