CT-27v loudness switch?

I don't think my preamp's loudness switch is doing anything as far as sound goes, but the light comes on and appears to work but the sound doesn't change at all. Has anybody experienced this?

Dunno???? I guess it's supposed to boost the entire spectrum of frequencies like my old KT-3500 did. ?

Do you have the bass turned up, too? Or perhaps, tone controls turned off (some Carver pres have this).
It should sound like it isn't there!

Re: CT-27v loudness switch?
The loudness button on the CT27, CT28, and CT29 will not change the sound on all of the outputs. If you are using the pre-out outputs it will, but not on some of the others. If you have an owners manual look in there, if you don't have a manual let me know and I will dig ours out and look it up. All the loudness button does is bump some of the lower freqs. a few db.

Re: CT-27v loudness switch?
ok thanks everyone but I had a ct-29v before and the loudness button had an effect but now I have everything exactly the same on my ct-27v and doesnt seem to make a difference, can a wire behind the switch be unplugged? I didnt open cover but if anyone thinks it can a wire & an easy fix then I will take it out of rack to check?
