A good tube buffer worthwhile?

I was wondering what thoughts anyone would have in my adding a tube buffer between my Denon2808 AVR ss pre and M-10T, I play a lot of CD's.

Have you considered a tube cd player?

I built a tube buffer from THIS circuit board I got on eBay. I chose this route so I could pick the very best parts, and it does sound very good. I'm using a pair of Amperex (Holland) 6DJ8s (ECC88s) in it.

How does the jolida compare to the carver 490t?

the 490t is dark, a little dull when i last listened to it. when i had it in the mix, it sounded almost if not identical to my pioneer laserdisc player. now with the sunfire tgp4, i have not done a a/b as of yet. i ordered some glass shelfs just today to put in my wall rack for just that purpose of addind back the 490 or what ever to compare without having to stack the stuff up. you know, maybe later i wiil do just that, remove the ld player and add the 490 again. back to this soon.

the jolida and carver are very,very close to each other. the pioneer must have had more of an effect on the sound than i thought. although i am not using the same brand rca's on both players at the moment. if anything, the jolida has a touch more lower mid to it and the highs are a little more crystal clear with less sizzle. but i am talking in very minor doses. at the peaks, with the carver, it seems to clip/distort just so slightly ever so light that is has a fuzzy distorted like sound to it. keep in mind that the jolida has the yugo tubes for audio research, and the carver is using the original amperex ones that came with the unit with many,many hours on it. the jolida also has a noticeably wider stage to it as well, about another foot or so. the carver fills the middle minus a about a half of a foot just within the two speakers were the jolida is fuller edge to edge.

I would love to hear that Jolida! it sounds like you think its better over all for sure and the sound stage is full - Something I thought my 390t did very well.
