Are there any Carver C-19 owners here? If there are how would you describe it's sound. I'm just curious.

I would describe its sound as :
Good
Re: Carver C-19
So would I. Very warm sound with a great soundstage. Excellent phono section too.

Skip is correct in his judgement. I have heard and seen his C-19 and it produces a very warm tonal quality.
In reality, it only matters what it sounds like to YOU!!!
Re: Carver C-19
I really like mine. Sound is very nice. You have lots of control to make it sound good in imperfect listening rooms. Well worth the money.
Some cool Carver stuff!
Re: Carver C-19
Thuffman03, how would you compare it to the Sunfire Classic tube?

Re: Carver C-19
I like them both. I have a hard time finding much of a sound difference between them.

Re: Carver C-19
I bought my C-19 from a forum member that sold it to get a Sunfire tube pre. He ended up selling the Sunfire to get another C-19.

The C-19 is also WAY more versatile than the Sunfire Tube pre....

Re: Carver C-19
But it's really a solid-state preamp with a tube buffer attached to its outputs.
It should sound like it isn't there!

Bill is absolutely correct. The Sunfire is 100% tube in the signal path; the C-19 buffers the signal with tubes then passes it through op amps on the way to its destination.
Re: Carver C-19
Good information. Never new that about the C-19. I always thought it was a traditional tube preamp.

Re: Carver C-19
I love the look of the Sunfire - The tube window was a cool match in the Sunfire line! Wish I had one...
BillD, You will be forever with us! RIP until we meet again on the other side...
