Re: The near feild listening thread.....

Thanks for the info, I am going to try it.

For select songs I listen nearfield. My speakers are about 5 feet apart, I listen about 4 feet away.

Yea, been doing that for years for the neat factor.
Is that a bad practice?

I am glad to hear that.
Being outside, I try to protect things as best I can. Plus it is a lot easier to do than a lot of staples since on every 7th staple or so I seem to miss and the hit the wire.

Now that you bring it up, that might be good on some things indoors. A person could just use PVC and paint it to match. A two inch diameter section would keep a lot of wires cozy, and it would still be easy to put them in and out.

I wonder if that would offer any shielding from the power cords?

Re: The near feild listening thread.....

As that last post loaded, I figured why that is a bad idea -- :-"

Putting all those high $$ interconnects into a pvc tube would make things neater, but then they would be invisible. #-o

Hell, if you are too old to hear a difference in cables (like me) and then they are out of sight, well you can see why that won't work for most of us ---
