Need to get a new tuner to keep the wife happy. I see a lot of tx-11's for sale but not tx-11a's and tx-11b's. Are there a lot of sonic differences or just more features?

Got an 11, had an 11a, never heard an 11b. Heard the B is the one to get. Better reception and all the bells and whistles.
In reality, it only matters what it sounds like to YOU!!!

The "b"s are very rare and usually go for around $300. I'd just buy a Squeezebox, has HD stations as well!

Re: tx-11 vs 11a and 11b
I have a TX-11 and I think it sounds great (as far as FM goes). I got it off craigslist for $50; no scratches, perfect working condition, and subsequently had it autographed by Bob!
Re: tx-11 vs 11a and 11b
Got the tx-11 running, like someone else said (sounds good for fm). It looks like it is around the same era as my m-500t . Has the same width glass and border, they look good together.

I'm pretty sure the case is the same except for the venting. Handles are the same and it uses the same basic faceplate.
It should sound like it isn't there!

Still sounds good after a few weeks of use. I picked up a tx-2 in a package deal last week, it looks older. Is there a list anywhere listing what years certain pieces where sold?

Thanks for the info. I will have to remember that the model # has nothing to do with the age.
