Problem with my C-5 preamp

Post by mrjbq@aol.com » Tue Jun 28, 2011 7:33 pm

I have Carver C-5 preamp. It has performed flawlessly until today. I turned it on tonight for a little listening and I could not get the input selector to work properly. I tried the phono input, no sound. I tried the CD input, which would not work. However, when selecting the tuner input, the CD would play! Fooling around with the input selector, I finally got the phono to play using a different input.
So, any idea what's going on?

Sounds like a chip is malfunctioning.

So, what to do now? Anyone in central Florida know of a place to fix it?
Thanks.

I have a CT-6.
I have no idea as to how Bob upgraded the phone stage or if he did.
I can say the CT-6 is excellent in that category.
