C-1 preamp vs a TGP IV......

For two channel stereo... is this a no brainer? I thought I remembered BC saying that he uses a C-1 on his personal setup? Thoughts.....

not sure if he uses that one, but he does use a Citation-I preamplifier

For the money, the C-1 is a fantastic pre. I don't think it can compare with the versatility & clean, black background of a TG-IV, especially in Stereo Direct mode. YMMV.

I love the C-1 and the C4000t more but TG-IV as you said don't compare! Sunfire again wins in all category's.

OK.... I think it might have been my OCCD acting up again. There has been a couple real nice C-1's on ebay that caught my eye, but I'll have to stay the course and wait for a mint/near mint TGP to come up.

The person who listed the newest 400x7 says that he's also selling the matching preamp but I haven't seen it listed yet, you might want to send him an email. I've got a Carver C-1 and C-4000 right now. The C-4000 sounds very nice and clean but just not as dynamic as the Sunfire.

That just kills me.... why don't people take better care of their gear!!! Nice amp... all scratched to hell.
