Re: EMMLabs SACD player..

Player (the SE) was originally $10k MSRP. Weak area was the transport — not worthy of a $10k unit. That's all I know, but they say it's good.

Re: EMMLabs SACD player..

Nice info on the value..

Hopefully I can get a really good deal on it. According to the reviews, it rivals even the finest vinyl players. I don't know about that, but we'll see.

It's not hard to better vinyl and the CDSA will do it with ease.

That's what I'm looking for! I will gladly pay for the Emmlabs player if that's the case.. However, I am very skeptical that it is superior to vinyl. I guess it really comes down to optimum recordings at that point.

Re: EMMLabs SACD player..

Everyone, I need your help, prayers, thoughts and best wishes..

Tomorrow I will try to purchase the EmmLabs CDSE.. No price has been discussed yet, so I don't know what kind of battle Im walking in to. Atleast I know what I am willing to spend ( no, I don't ). Oh god.

I am one of the worlds most major fans of SACD and this will surely feed my addiction for many many years. Actually, I'll probably be happy with it for as long as I live.

You true true audio nuts will know what I am going through right now. I havnt slept well all weekend..

I will update tomorrow. Just be thinking about one of your brothers tomorrow. 8)

Good luck!

Don't fret too much if it doesn't happen, there's other great SACD players out there.

Re: EMMLabs SACD player..

The Sony SCD-777ES CD Player sells for around $1000.....is the one your looking at better than the Sony (considered to be a VERY good 2-channel SACD player)?

Re: EMMLabs SACD player..

I havnt personally auditioned the Sony, so I cannot honestly answer that question. However, based on many reviews, I am thinking that the EmmLabs player is one of the best in the world.

If I get this player tomorrow within the price I am willing to pay.. I will gladly send one of my TT's to a random forum member in a random drawing. For free, shipped.

Probably a Yamaha PX-3.

Re: EMMLabs SACD player..

Well guys.. I woke up bright and early today and showed up to wheel and deal on this player. Buttttt.... It turns out that it's not the CDSE.. It's the CDSD. Therefore, I would have to buy a DAC to go with it and they didnt have the matching Emmlabs unit.

3000 for the transport.

I passed on it.

Oh well.. :x
