sending my tfm 42 to rolland tomorrow

So I guess I will just skip th refresh upgrades & just go with the standard refurb !

I just don’t know this is out of my area of expertise which is why I asked the questions if the upgraded caps would increase lifespan or performance it may be worth it. As I would only expect to have this work done every so many years I would probably be the sucker and go for it but even if you don’t you should expect that the standard service would return it to its original quality.

When Rolland refreshed my son's TFM-45, I went with upgraded caps. Don't have any idea as to what they were, other than they were an upgrade from originals. Trusted Rolland's advice.

I told Rolland to do both upgrades for a total price of $409 plus $45 return shipping!! Im sure it will be all that I want it to be!! will be bringing it next month so you guys can give it a listen!!

that's what i did with my tfm55. refurb and repair. rolland even refinished the cover that had scratches. real class.

Rolland has always provided me with amazing support either via email or phone. He is a great guy to talk to and always been a great help with any audio issues.

e-mailed Rolland a few days ago & he told me my tfm42 is not even on the bench yet?? wow, didnt know he was that backed up with work!! he said he received mine on august 2nd & at that time it was 8 week backlog!! should have sent it out sooner!!! was not gonna put my system back together till I got it back but dont think I will wait now!! guess I will just use my tfm25 for a little while longer, not that big of a deal but really looking forward to getting my tfm 42 back!!

Al, why don't you try your Carverfest Tube amp for a while ?

I know it is low power but it drove those als towers reasonably well.

Try it and see !

They sounded great on the JBL's.

Rolland e-mailed me tonight & said he shipped my tfm 42 on the 11th so should see it very soon!! excited to give it a test drive!!!!!!!!!! just so you guys know, thats about 10 weeks so be prepared if you send anything to him for a refurb!! He is super busy & it will take some time to get it back!! but worth the wait!!
