I kinda think the economy is starting to really freak people out....

my line of work has not taken to big of a hit, as food suppliers try an automate to get rid of workers.....
this is where the company I work for comes in
people still need to eat.

It's starting to hurt everywhere, not just you subjects of Obamacide...
I'm in the "quick serve food industry" as well - we can't keep up.
The high end eateries are losing business, but the low buck fast food outfits are rocking.
For the first time in ages I'm happy to have picked automated food service machinery as a career!
Gotta feel bad for the bulk of our countrymen though...

On the egocentric side - Used Carver gear is getting less expensive: I just picked up a TFM-55 for $75 off the local classifieds! :D

Positive feedback rating Positive 10 57 122
Neutral feedback rating Neutral 0 1 1
Negative feedback rating Negative 0 5 7

The negative feedback rating is probably why he didn't have any hits. 12 negatives within a one year period speaks volumes.

I've not heard the 390t and don't mean to be disrespectful to Carver fans, but it would seem that the Jolida may be a better performer as it has a 24 bit dac direct to a tube output, while the 390t has an older 1 bit dac. I had the Jolida in my system for a week many years ago. It was quite good, nice bass, big soundstage, very captivating, but lacking a bit in resolution and refinement. I ended up adding the Cary cd308 (non-t) and it was a big step up to the Jolida. Just my 2¢.

Re: Carver SD/A-390T Vacuum Tube CD Changer

Your not being disrespectful mjcmt, that's what it's all about here ! I use an old Onkyo DX-7500 which I think sounds much better than any Carver I've ever heard. Never heard a 390t or 490t though. O:)
