Have you communicated with the seller? In my experience in the electronic manufacturing business, a "prototype" may bear little or no resemblance to the released product. I hope it works out for you, especially at the price he's asking...

Good luck Angelo !!
Re: lightstar prototype
I don't want to burst your bubble Angelo, but Bob had told me before, that the last thing going from a prototype, to the production run was the silk screening. This amp looks 100% production to me, and possiblly has had it's serial number sticker removed.
Feel free to bid, but don't spend twice what the amp is worth, on the off chance that it's a prototype.
If had had to put money on it, i would say this is NOT a prototype, and is one of the production run amps.
Either way, it's still a Lightstar amp, and would make a nice centerpiece in your collection.
Good luck.

I am trying to seal a deal on another LS 1 if it's ok with everybody. It's on Audiogon.
In reality, it only matters what it sounds like to YOU!!!

Wayne.
I did call dibs on it in an other thread, by saying I had made an offer.
That's the one I have made on offer on 3 days ago , before he listed it on Agon.
So if you can, please stay with one, I would like to pick one up as well.
The serial # is 0016
Brian.
BTW. Wayne I was trying to send this as a PM, and I hit the wrong button

Re: lightstar prototype
I'd be careful if I were you it says " Serial number has been removed" in the last picture in the lower right hand corner.
