Best TFM for LaScalas?

Post by Ion » Fri Oct 07, 2011 10:38 pm

First off, greetings all, first post!

I now have two dead TFM's. A 25 and a 45. Long story why I have both, but I'll spare the details. I spoke w/ Rolland about doing the repair work and am asking this forum their opinion about which would be best suited for my Klipsch LaScala's.

The TFM-45 for sure. I don't know about the TFM-25 but I've owned the TFM-35 & 45's and they are great amps. You'll never use all the power the 45 has IMHO to drive those LaScala's ! Welcome to the forum btw !

=D> \:D/ Welcome!! \:D/ =D> Sorry to hear about the amps. Both are great amps but the 45 is the easy winner here. Sunfire amps are a match made in heaven with Klipsch though if you have the extra doe. Good luck! 8)

A TFM15cb can be had for cheap and IMO, has the best sound signature of all of the TFM amplifiers. Yeah, I know they are all supposed to sound the same but in reality, that is simply not true. The TFM15cb will also have more than enough power to give your speakers what they need.

Welcome to the Carver forum, BTW.
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.

I think you are correct but it's head room gets exhausted relatively fast past 100 watts. I do love mine though. :)

As a Klipsch Chorus II owner happily powered by a Sunfire 300 x 2, the one thing I wish I had was a gain control on the Sunfire, which several of the Carver amps do have.

The Chorus's get real loud real quick. Would like a wider volume range to work with.
My office (and only) system:

A different preamp may help with that- what are you running?
