six ribbons in a room

soon to be eight ribbons right. so, i have the 60" new ribbons settling down as they are still breaking in, using the clearwater electronic x-over with the treo 15" woofers, the al3's as a set of side axis speakers, then another set of al3's in the surround with yet another set of al3's in the far back of the room waiting for me to run the speaker wires under the house some into the wall cabinet, as well as another treo 15" in subwoofer mode.
anyway, i say all that to say that i have been listening in pro logic2 mode and alot of music sounds so, so awesome. some better 2 channel as that is what my ear has gotten used to. but i have been buy new old music and without prejudice, i like the pro logic alot. dire straits, dark side of the moon, some david bowie and so on. it's like being in the middle of an event. 3d like. there is just as much depth as there is width that is really cool. photo's to follow.

wow. a saturday night alone. no wife, no kids. just me and my misstress kapton.

so, by accident i got this plastic style/type mesh they call grill cloth. intended for pro audio style speakers, but my son pointed out that it would look cool over the ribbons where the foam was gone in the al3s. well it also really made the plats way cooler looking too. you still see the ribbons, but they are not 100% covered as there are open spaces in the mesh. really cool i say. pictures to follow soon.
