Re: Tfm55?
I was not sure that one amp meaning the 55 would be better than the two 24's. What kind of improvement should I hear. I listen to everything from jazz to blues to rock.

The 55 is a true magnetic field amp unlike the 24's. If you can supply the amperage with a dedicated circuit the difference will be very noticeable if you have revealing source and speakers. I have 3 and have compared them to the TFM-25 of my friends. No contest.
In reality, it only matters what it sounds like to YOU!!!
Re: Tfm55?
Ive never heard a 55, but I have a A760x......are they close in sound or is one better than another?
Re: Tfm55?
I've had both but never side by side. The 760x is very powerful but not as musical in my opinion, same with all the THX amps, kind of flat sounding but very clean and powerful. I think they're so clean that it takes some of the life away.

Re: Tfm55?
Yes,,but a Sunfire is the way to go bar none. I have two 55 amps and know this first hand.

Re: Tfm55?
No argument there angelo! In fact there's a 300x2 on Audiogon right now for $600. I've been very tempted to "upgrade" my brothers birthday present at that price!

Re: Tfm55?
yeah, what he said, no. still very nice though.bob and his assistant spent alot of time back and forth overseas for the final production models. they are otherwise the same other than power supply. 3 rail design.

Re: Tfm55?
So the 25 AND 35 are not magnetic design?
They advertise them as such. I always knew the 6 & the 15 were not but the 35?
