=D> \:D/ =D> Welcome!! \:D/ =D> \:D/ I've never owned the 28v but have had several of the 27v & 29v preamplifiers, imagine they're pretty close. If you look at the pictures I attached, it will show you where to plug in the RCAs that will go to your amp. These are 5.1 preamps, you want to run off of the front mains, hope this helps, good luck!

thank for pics. was going to use this configuration(stereo only) but would still like to have specs for 28v. main concern is sound clarity and what can be done to improve if anything. I have BBE maximizer and harmon kardon EQ but not sure they should be connected(dubious benefits) :-k 8) :-k

Pulled from the net:

http://www.audioreview.com/cat/amplific ... 91crx.aspx

"The Carver CT-28V preamplifier is one of Bob Carver's classic MADE IN JAPAN preamps. The CT-28v is a high-performance preamplifier with precise RIAA phono equalization, extremely low noise and distortion, high slew rate, and wide dynamic range. The CT-28V has 3 sets of preamp outputs. This unit's Main 1 preamp outputs have been updated by Carver with a reduced line amplifier gain to increase the signal-to-noise ratio when using very efficient speakers or when listening at lower volume levels. 2 preamp outputs are set to the standard line amplifier gain. The two levels of line amplifier gain add to the versatility of this unit. Specifications: a.. Inputs: Phono 1, Tuner, Aux 1, Aux 2, Tape 1, Tape 2, LD, CATV External Processor Loop b.. Distortion: <0.04% IM (CCIR or SMPTE); <0.04% THD c.. S/N: 96dB, IHF A-weighted, below 2V RMS a. Phono: 82dB IHF A-weighted below 5mV RMS d.. Freq. Response: 5Hz-200kHz, +1 -3dB e.. Equalization: +/-6dB @ 40Hz and 8kHz; +/-6dB at 150Hz and 2kHz f.. Infrasonic Filter: 18dB/octave below 20Hz, f3=15Hz"

Looks like the rear panel is very close to the 27v. :-k
