Carver Tfm 35 question

I know the TFm 35 in mono at 8 ohms gives 700 watts....but is it advisiable to try to run this amp bridged in 4 ohms?I have a subwoofer that is rated at 4 ohms ...but the Carver Manual doesn't say anything about bridged 4 ohms ..what do you guys think is it possible without hurting the amp?

I think your fear may be justified. A call to Carver Repair may be in order before driving a 4 ohm sub with a bridged TFM-35. Perhaps they can give you the definitive yes or no.

It will only drive a 8 ohm load bridged.

I was just reading in my TFM-35X manual last week about bridging them and it specifically warns not to run 4 OHM speaker(s) in this configuration because it can lead to overheating and internal circuit protection shutdown.

I've used a TFM 15CB in the past with two 12 inch 4ohm subs ( titanic's). The amp always ran cool and never presented a problem.
