I'm also bringing the CF amp with the K-40's for Bob's signature.
And Harry's tweak!

Sherry and I finished cleaning out the garage this weekend getting my ducks in a row so I can start work on the pre amp I've been threatening to build for almost a year now. I spent 3 hours cleaning the tape residue off the Lightstar Direct Prototype chassis I'm using for this project but I've run into an issue. The fellow I bought the chassis from told me they only made 2 of them. Ordinarily I'd have ignored him BUT looking closer at the unit this display uses the word HUSH instead of MUTE like my production unit. Anyone else have a Lightstar Direct Pre like that?

Do y'all think I should drill holes all over it to build my pre?

Anyway....

I had such good luck with the repairs to my little CF amps I decided to throw caution to the wind and mod them. I have Obbligatto .1uf caps, F&T 100uf electrolytics and Mills 2.2k resistors to put in the signal path and some silver over OFC wire from DH Labs to run from the OPTs to the speaker connection and from the RCAs in. Pics to follow tomorrow...unless I electrocute myself...or nuke the amp.

Tomorrow folks

 Oh CRAP Ray! Sorry....I forgot to call you back. My mistake. I've been so busy I forgot completely. And I've got long term company in which distracts me when I do happen to get home. Things return to normal very shortly. Woo-hoo!

Anyway, hope the work on it goes well and hollar again if you need. I might even answer or respond eventually. ](*,) Again, sorry!

So Harry, with all this tweaking going on, I figure you took your nipple clips to the fest this year? Where are THOSE photos?

As much trouble as Harry was having talking you gotta wonder what else was clipped????

Sadly I had to work until 9pm so no work got done on my amp. I'm going to take it with me tomorrow. That way if I get stuck again I have something to entertain the guys with. Gotta watch my language in front of them:-)

Hey Mark! You mentioned another 220ufcap in the power supply. Where is it. AND...during another conversation you mentioned maybe IIRC a resistor somewhere in/around the 2 big power caps although I could be wrong.
