Re: PT 1250

Sure it will work. what kind of preamp are you going to be using? I used a PM 1.5 that is just about the same thing on my silvers for a while, wasn't bad just not as smooth as with other amps. If you haven't gotten the amp yet make sure you try another set of speakers first. these amps are usually driven hard and put away wet. You could get some funny things happining when shutting it off.

I am also considering a couple of much more expensive amps. The Sunfire 300 /600/1200 watt version and a pair of silver 7t's. i'm using an Emotiva USP 1 preamp

The 600x2 is the way to go if you can get one. 300x2 is less but good. These amps drive the ribbons great! The Silver 7's were made to drive the Amazings. You have choices depending on your budget and availability.

Re: PT 1250

Yeah i like the 300 as it is a touch more laid back than the 600. 600 is a bit more forward in its presentation of music. The pre and cd thought make just as big an impact i found. Cables far more subtle.

Re: PT 1250

I had a Sunfire 300 x 2 running a pair of Silvers and it seemed like BARELY enough to drive them, although it did and it sounded very nice. Personally I'd opt for more wattage like a 600 x 2 or the Silver 7t's as you've suggested, possibly a pair of 300 x 2's bridged... :-" :-" 8)
Sunfire TGP-III
Sunfire 405x5
