Do Carver amps perform well if power fluctuates?

I heard someone say that Carver amps don't perform well if the power into them flutuates a bit, like if you're using the amp for your bass guitar and there happens to be several things on the same circuit (refridgerators, etc.), and the voltage may tend to fluctuate when the appliances turn on.

Is there any truth to this?

Which Carver power amp models are more likely to suffer from fluctuating supply voltage?

Which Carver power amp models will perform the best and are not likely to suffer under these conditions?

Thanks..

Any amp will suffer under those conditions, get a dedicated line.

F1 speaks with straight tongue. If you think you're home wiring is not up to snuff, or you have big /noisy motors on the same line as your stereo, have a qualified electrician install a dedicated 20 amp line JUST FOR THE STEREO.

Both my big rigs in two different rooms have dedicated 20 amp lines.

Yes, by all means get a dedicated line - it does make a difference! My TFM 45 was very happy until lightning "dedicated" itself to visit, and now its replacement, a Sunfire Signature 600~two is delighted with the stiff power supply. ;)

I have spoken to this man also. I know Robbie from someplace cause I remember asking about the SDA's and the Hughes processor in the same system. Kind of overkill I thought.

I still have a Hughes AK-100 stashed away in the "Magic Closet".

Hi George - good memory! You're right about the overkill - on most recordings I let the AK-100 remain passive. I find it does do a good job on some mono recordings of providing a little "virtual" separation. Good to hear from you.
