sonic hologram

does anyone know the differences between the holograms on the c-4000, 2000 receiver, c - 9, 9hav, and c - 16. also how does the c - 16 compare with the 4000 overall ?

I have the C-9 and the C-1 pre-amp. The C-1 has the Hologram Generator built in, but what I was told (some time ago) from a person at the Carver corp. was that if you have both it is always better to use the Hologram from the C-9. I have used both ways and to tell you the truth I had a very hard time distinguishing between them. However, it did seem that the C-9 sounded better with some types of music.

Around 1991, I had a C-1, a C-2, and a C-9. My ears were telling me that the C-2/C-9 combo had a better hologram than the one aboard the C-1. I called Carver myself and spoke to a gentleman named Vic Richardson, who agreed with me that the C-9 outperformed the C-1 hologram.

True the C-9 is a stand alone Hologram. It is designed to do nothing but generate the hologram. It was created to add to anyone(s) existing non-Carver system. This way anyone could enjoy Bob's truly amazing Hologram experience.

The C-9 is the BEST unit that is 100% true to his original design. All the other units had other things added to them to make the system work.
If you want the BEST Holography possible, grab the C-9 !!!

here's another one for this topic>i thought that maybe my ear's were playin trick's on me when i boxed up my ole'ct-7 and installed a recently purchased ct-17 preamp that i had noticed the difference bet/the two.after listening to my ct-17 w/ the the"sonic holography"activated i noticed that my ole'ct-7 sounded alot better w/it's"sonic holography"on.so,there might be a difference bet/the 2 preamp's or it just might be a"trick"my ear's r playin
