HTCP

As I get into this - TV stuff -

Bought a 55" led Samsung to replace a perfectly good TV I bought in 1992 so the Bride wound not be embarrassed when we had visitors. Yea, I have to hide in the woods when they come over as I don't shave, shower or wear underwear these days.

I put in Polk VM30 speakers with a good sub. I use an old NAD pre to a Carver 400t amp. The sound is not 5.1, 12.1 or whatever, but the sound on game day is excellent!!! No, it is better than that, just makes you feel like you are at the game. Someday I will get into surround sound, already have excellent equipment in the closet, minus the processor as I have a Carver 705 and two Polk VM20s collecting dust.

Home theater needs a server. I slept on it it for weeks.

I have never put together a HTPC but they can be cool to have. A friend of mine bought an off the shelf media center that does all the HTPC stuff. I will ask who makes it and get some links.

I have a HP Core 2 Quad Vista PC connected to my Sony 52" XBR LCD TV via a D-sub connector that can pass 1920x1080 (1080P) via it's video card. It is also connected to my Sunfire TGP-III via through a decent soundcard via digital coax (S/PDIF). It is one of three computers that has a mirrored copy of my digital music library, and I also use it to stream video from Netflix and other Internet sources. No special software here except iTunes and a Netfilx download.

1:30 AM as in the middle of the night.

Got the new computer together, but no audio from the HDMI which is very necessary on a HTCP.
I think it is the drivers or lack there of -
Did not pay attention and the Windows 7 I installed down loaded more updates than the 200 MBs I am allowed back here in the woods - so I am more or less dead in the water for 24 hours.
I pay $70 a month for the last ten years for - crap service.

Sometimes at 2am, they lift the lid so I am waiting as the music is good, the beer is cold and I am not sleepy.
