Power rating of Carver AV-705x in 4 ohms.

Got a used Carver AV-705x without manual. I would like to know the power rating of this amp in 4 ohms. Anyone who knows? Thanks in advance.

Do an eBay search for active and completed items - often specs are listed there - good luck!

I just bought one couple days ago off ebay and I cant find 4 ohm specs either! I have 4 ohm speakers I want to hook it up to and I sure hope it can handle it....phhhhhh

I know this thread is a few months old but I do have a manual for the AV-705x. Always keep my manuals for future reference or if I sell the product so I can pass it along to the new owner. It doesn't have a rating for 4 ohms, but I'll give you the spec's that are in the manual.

AV-705x Specifications directly from the User Manual.

Stereo Power: 180w/ch from 20Hz to 20kHz w/no more than 0.08% THD.

All channels driven: 125w/ch into 8 ohms from 20Hz to 20kHz w/no more than 0.08% THD.

Power Steering Capability: >200 watts into 8 ohms

Dynamic Headroom: 1.1 dB @ 8 ohms(all channels driven)

Frequency Response: 20Hz to 20kHz (+0, -0.2 dB)

Separation: >70 dB (@1kHz)

Damping Factor: >300 20Hz to 20kHz

Imput Impedance: 50K ohms in parallel with 120 pF

Sensitivity: Per THX standard: 1.0V rms input for 100W output into 8 ohms (with input Sensitivity controls fully clockwise)

Gain: 29.0 dB (+/- 0.5dB)

Distortion: IM <0.01% CCIF
<0.03% SMPTE
THD <0>114 dB A-weighted, referenced to rated power
>93 dB A-weighted, referenced to 1W into 8 ohms.

Power Consumption: 100W at idle
600W with musical program
1100W at full power into 8 ohms.

From the specs I have seen on Carver amps, most double power going from 8ohms to 4......I know this amp can handle 4ohms, I wonder why it isn't listed...
