AV-705x vs AV806x: Preferences?

Hi, all...

Apart from the additional channel and 8 wpc more from the 806x, I am curious as to opinions regarding which amp might be more musical or simply sound better, if significant difference exists at all.

Anyone have "ear experience" with either of these amplifiers? Any opinions out there?

Hey, TFM75-
Thanks for the links. I am familiar w/audioreview.com - it is a decent site to gather info, but I figured this would be an even better one (of course, it is) :)

If there are any Carver AV series owners out there, your input will be enjoyed....

Amps

How you doing Mike ?
I see you still haven't made up your mind on what amp to buy.
I tried to force my Biased opinion for the older Carver amps upon you but I can see you still have doubts ! As far as Bi-amping goes I have never yet had a pair of speakers that are Bi-amp able. Maybe someday when my ship comes in ? "I know it's out there"
Hope your enjoying the Risers !
Rick =P~

Hey, Rick, I actually do have three amps now in my possession (Two 35x's and a 55x). I've got some experimenting to do with bi-amping before I sell one or two of these off, but I am forever curious and the topic was one that searches didn't reveal much.

With the passion folk have here for there Carver gear - and in particular amps - I figured there'd be an interesting collection of ideas. :) We shall see...
